Frequently Asked Questions
What's so special about El Presidio?
El Presidio is the oldest neighborhood in Tucson, with homes dating back to he mid-1800's.
We are on the National Register of Historic Places, and our streets are lined with a mixture of Sonoran, Territorial, and Victorian houses.
We are located a short walk from downtown Tucson, and our residents are as eclectic as the styles of our homes.
EPNA has succeeded, through the hard work of many residents, to preserve and revive this neighborhood, caring for the historic character of the 19th-century buildings while making El Presidio a better place to live in the 21st century.
Where is the El Presidio neighborhood located?
El Presidio is located just northwest of downtown Tucson, AZ. Our boundaries are St. Mary's/6th Street, Stone Avenue, Alameda Street, and the I-10.
How do I find out about what's happening in the neighborhood?
Sign up for the El Presidio Yahoo Group
We hold monthly meetings where we discuss and plan neighborhood issues and projects.
We send out a brief newsletter to residents of the neighborhood two times a year, and post information on this website.
We also hold an annual neighborhood picnic every February, which is a great way to meet the neighbors.
How do I bring up an issue for discussion at an EPNA meeting?
Contact our president Mary Lucking, who can add you to the agenda.
