Interactive poem in Flash
This piece was inspired by a concrete poem by Emmett Williams, where all possible permutations of a few words made a very long series of sentences.
I was teaching myself to program at the time, so I created a little computer program that would spit out the poem based on a simple algorithm.
I decided to animate the text to highlight the changing combinations. From the idea of a limited number of characters forming a complex series of combinations,
I used the model of a soap opera for the subject of the sentences. Click on the words to reveal other options. |
