To form rolling hills, I bought big blocks of Styrofoam and have been carving them down using a combination of a saw, a utility knife, and a dremmel tool (I replaced the one I burned out.) The bits are really static-y, and my entire studio and I are covered with foam right now.

I inserted a clear, flexible plastic tube up through the hole I drilled in the pony's armpit, and slid the lights up into place. The light inside the pony is a low, golden light like you'd see right at sunset.
